Robert is a seasoned trial lawyer, having appeared at all levels of Courts in the Province of Ontario. Many of his cases have been reported in law journals, including several before the Court of Appeal for Ontario. Since 1995, he has been a member of the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association (Medical Malpractice Subsection), and held the position of Director of the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association from 1995 to 2000. He is at present the only lawyer in Northwestern Ontario with expertise in the area of medical malpractice.

Robert graduated from Lakehead University in 1972 and from the University of Windsor Law School in 1975.
